Reflecting on 2011

Although 2011 didn’t start out on a good note, it turned out to be a hell of a year. It started out real rough. I was jobless and poor, struggling to pay my rent and my bills. However, things started to look up in February. I got a part-time job working as an administrative assistant at a Boys & Girls Club. This job gives me the flexibility I need, when it comes to auditions and acting gigs. Who says an actor needs to be server?! This job eventually led to me teaching Drama and Glee at the club. I’m having a lot of fun teaching and learning from the kids.

In March, I auditioned for Woody Harrelson’s Bullet for Adolf and booked it.

It’s an experience that opened doors for me. I’ve met a lot of people and made some great connections. And I finally got an agent. I swear I have one of the best agents in Toronto! Everyone I meet has nothing but nice things to say about him. He’s good at his job,  I get sent out to top auditions in the city.

I had a great time working with Woody and Frankie………friends for life. One of the perks of working with Woody was meeting & partying with celebrities. I got to meet, Edward Norton, Bono, Kiefer Sutherland, Owen Wilson to name a few. It was surreal at times. I also got to work with some great actors and we will forever share this experience.

The Boyfriend loved hanging out with the celebs too!

After bullet ended I started auditioning, I was in a fringe show and had a couple of small gigs here and there. In July I booked my first On-Camera gig. I was so excited and it felt really good being on set. At the end of the year I booked my first union gig on The Firm!  Which I will shoot this month.

2011 was a great year and I hope 2012 is better! The year I become a regular face on TV. In commercials, TV series, and Movies. The year I make more new connections. And continue to learn, grow and succeed in EVERYTHING I do. Think big or go home.
