Til we meet again

This was my first time at The Gourmet Food & Wine Expo. The expo gave me a chance to try a lot of different wines, beers and liquor that I normally wouldn’t taste.  However, I must admit with the wide variety, I still found myself drifting towards the brands I enjoyed & knew.

I really enjoyed the pinot Grigio

Wesley (he’s holding two bottles) and his crew The Barefoot Boys. Loved them!

My Favourite

Yellow Tail Bubbles Rosé is a delightful fresh fruity and soft sparkling wine with great palate length. Lifted aromas of fresh strawberries and spice are united with flavours of sweet cherries and tropical fruits.

Molson M Easy drinking taste, award-winning Beer. The world’s only Microcarbonated™ lager.

Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Honey. Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7 with a special honey liqueur.

Enjoy a range of bite-sized cupcakes with giant flavour that are sure to satisfy any craving. Our mini servings allow ‘biters’ to experience a variety of tastes without having to choose just one.

Believe me I couldn’t choose just one.

Shout out to The Bite Bar Ladies

My Spicy Pulled pork with Coleslaw. So good.

Best Pears I have ever tasted. No lie.

What I really liked about the show is that it allowed its attendees to take part  and learn about certain product & brands through educational seminars.  The food network stage had recognized chefs, share their secrets & demonstrate how to replicate the culinary delights at home. What a treat!

There were a few things I wasn’t prepared for. So here are some tips from this first timer.

  • Bring water!! I can’t stress this enough. Maybe it was just me, but I couldn’t find water anywhere. Thank god, I finally found a tap.
  • While sampling all the alcohol make sure you’re consuming food. If you’re a light weight like me, you will definitely get a buzz.  I don’t think a lot of people realized how much alcohol they were actually drinking. I didn’t!
  • Last but not least, don’t mix your Alcohol. Not sure if it can be done. It’s kinda hard not to mix, especially with all the variety and it is a sampling, but do your best.

But overall it was enjoyable. Food + Wine = Me . Til we meet again next year.
